Debt-free – the goal and help

I found a great article to help me live debt free – https://www.ramseysolutions.com/debt/7-characteristics-of-debt-free-people

First lesson:

They use self-control.

According to Dave Ramsey, adults make a plan and follow it. Children do what feels good. Someone who really wants to get out of debt has the willpower to walk right past the shoe section (with the big sale) or the flat-screen TV aisle without making an impulse purchase.

They aren’t swayed to buy something simply because they want it or it’s on sale. They’re wise enough to know that purchases aren’t going to erase all their problems or make them feel better in the long run.

That’s why debt-free people don’t buy stuff unless they can pay cash. They are willing to wait, work and save.

Things I Can Do Now

Don’t Order Groceries online.

Don’t use my credit cards – pay them now.

No More Out of Control Spending!

So spending has been out of control! Wow! Not anymore! I’m in control now and ready to learn in habit. So proud of myself! Here we go!!!

The first thing I did today was not buy a Voodoo doll incense burner that popped up in my Facebook feed. Money saved by not buying on Saturday:

$25 – voodoo doll incense burner

$20 – Halloween gnomes

$35 – Dress with flowers on it.

Transforming Myself Now!

Don’t Wait Self! Transform Yourself Now!

So, had a wonderful late birthday dinner with my sweet son and fam. We were talking about weight loss/healthy eating. He admires me for being able to quit smoking and drinking before he was born. Yes, that was great, but I did it because I wanted a baby and didn’t want him raised around either. I need to have the same mindset for weight loss and healthy eating. The reasons are:

I’ll live longer and healthier if I lose weight, exercise, and eat healthily. That and to make my son proud and know that it’s possible. All great reasons.
